The Service in Schools Leadership Institute is an opportunity for NYC public and charter school students in grades 10-12 who are interested in making a difference in their community. As part of this program, students will build their leadership skills by attending a five-day in-person institute from Monday, April 10 through Friday, April 14 during spring break and in two after-school virtual sessions on Tuesday, May 9 and Thursday, May 25.
During these sessions, students will work in small groups to learn about animal welfare, the environment, disability rights, and homelessness, and then develop a live virtual lesson that they teach to students in grades 3-5 as part of the Youth Service Summit in late spring 2023.
Students interested in participating in the Leadership Institute should click the Apply Now button below to begin the application. The Parent/Guardian Declarations and Release sections MUST be completed by a parent/guardian, while all other questions MUST be completed by the applying student.
Applications are due by 11:59pm on Monday, March 6, 2023.
