We are excited to announce the launch of the Sustainability Minor at HSFI! Students who complete 54 hours of coursework during after school sessions twice a week have the chance to earn a credit and certificate of completion for the Sustainability Minor. Learners will have the chance to gain knowledge from industry experts and foster skills specific to:
* Darning + Reweaving Sweaters
* Embroidery and Embellishment on Delicate Fabrics
* Alterations and Pattern Making
* Patching and boro on Denim
* Natural Dyeing + Textile Restoration
* Leather Repair
* Sewing Machine Repair
Recruitment is happening now for the first cohort – 10th and 11th grade – all majors—deadline to sign up: Monday February 5th at 5pm
Students will be notified of whether or not they have been selected for the program. Chosen students will be contacted with information around next steps via email.
